Happy occasion as ten 90-year-olds enjoy birthday party for the Queen
Hoppa buses chauffeured the party guests from their homes in and around Haslemere, Godalming, Cranleigh and Farnham to the borough council offices where they joined the Mayor of Waverley, Cllr Mike Band for lunch.
The Mayor and Mayoress warmly greeted the guests and the Mayor said a few words of welcome.

Hide AdEverybody was then invited to enjoy a light lunch in the company of their fellow nonagenarians.
During a short speech, Steve Forward, General Manager at hoppa highlighted how 1926 also saw the birth of some well-known people including Marilyn Monroe, David Attenborough, George Martin, Chuck Berry and Kenneth Williams.
He also had guests reminiscing about the time when a loaf of bread cost 1.8p, a pint of milk was 1.3p, a pint of beer was 3p and the average home cost £619.
On behalf of hoppa, each lady was presented with a posy of flowers, which included sprays of carnations as these are said to be the Queen’s favourite flower.

Hide AdTo round off the celebration, Elsie Reed whose birthday is closest to the Queen’s, was invited to join the Mayor of Waverley and Steve Forward to cut a specially made birthday cake.
At the end of the party, each guest was taken back home by hoppa.
Steve Forward said: “The party was such a happy occasion.
